ROBERT R. SHIPLEY

Age 96, died Monday morning, at Greystone Health & Rehab Center.

He was born August 1, 1920 to the late Clarence E. & Ava M. Arnold Shipley. Preceding him in death were 5 sisters: Hazel Hope, Jane Smylie, Ada Folz, Ruth Ann Busche & Kathryn Blamble.  2 brothers: Harold & Willard Shipley.

Surviving is his wife Carol Andrews Shipley; a sister Isabelle Buoni of Reynoldsburg and a brother William ‘Hazel’ Shipley of Barnesville. Several Nieces & Nephews.

He was Dairy Farmer, was a 44-year Oxford Township Trustee and 37-year School bus driver. He served in W.W.II 1945-1947 and made several jumps with the Paratrooper 11th Airborne Div.

Bob was a member of the Fairview U. Meth. Church, 75-year member of Valley Grange, Life member of the VFW, served 50 years and never missed a meeting of the Pennyroyal Ruritan Club, he was very active with the Pennyroyal Association and a former Farm Bureau member.

Friends may call at the Bond Funeral Home, Londonderry

Thursday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00pm.

with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Military Graveside Service.
